Traveling Mood: New York, NY

I took a quick trip New York this past weekend to support and celebrate my aunt’s retirement from her nursing career.  I’m so proud of her and her accomplishments.  I can only hope and pray that I will be able to retire when I get older.  My aunt has been a nurse for over 30+ years and she’s finally going to start taking it easy, which is well overdue.  She is very excited about retiring because she has big plans for the future.  One of her plans that I love is that she wants to become a tourist in her own city.  She’s lived in Staten Island for years but she doesn’t know Manhattan and some of the other boroughs.  I can’t wait to hear about some of her adventures.  Even though I’ve been to NY many times, I still enjoy doing some of the touristy things in the city especially around the holidays. Do you have any favorite things to do in New York?  Let me know in the comments!  Some of you may have seen a few pictures on Instagram, but here are more pictures from this weekend below.

What I did in New, York:

Took the Staten Island Ferry to the City

Visited the 9/11 Memorial

Shopped at the J.Crew Sample Sale

Went to Rockefeller Center/Christmas Tree
Strolled thru the Grand Central Terminal; Enjoyed some snow flurries
Attended my aunt’s retirement party with my sister at Rex Manor Catering Hall, Brooklyn, NY
Delayed at Newark and Chicago Midway Airports due to snow.

Moody Style: Sparkles and Leopard

I can’t believe that we only have 15 days until Christmas.  Is anyone else freaking out or is it just me?  I feel like I’m so behind with everything this year including my holiday shopping.  I just wrote up my Christmas list and I made the decision that everyone is getting gift cards this year (except for the babies).  I just don’t have time to run around to try to find the perfect gift for each person.  I know - it sounds like a cop out, but that’s the way it’s going to be this year.  Are you all finished with your holiday shopping? If so, how did you do it? I need some tips.  Are any of you taking the easy way out like me? Let me know in the comments.

Moody Style: Thanksgiving Eve

Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone!  I just wanted to quickly say hello and share what I wore today during an afternoon of running errands.  Hopefully, you all are keeping warm and have traveled safely to your destinations.  And if you haven’t traveled anywhere yet, then I hope that you have a safe trip tomorrow.  Luckily, I don’t have to travel too far this year for Thanksgiving, but I won’t get home until tomorrow morning.  I signed up to run in a half marathon a few weeks ago and now I’m regretting it a little.  I really can’t wait to go home and hang out with my family and eat a delicious home-cooked meal.  Well, I gotta get some sleep for my big race in the morning.  Wish me luck…its suppose to be pretty cold out there.  How are you all spending your Thanksgiving Eve?  Do you have any fun family traditions?  Let me know in the comments.
