{three} smash.  i’m really loving the premiere of the new nbc television series, smash.  it looks like it’s going to be a really good show.  the show"smash" tells the story of the creation of a broadway musical based on the life of the film icon, marilyn monroe.  during the first episode, katharine mcphee and broadway veteran, megan hilty, went head to head for the part of ms. monroe.  the singing was phenomenal and the cast is filled with great actors.  i’m definitely hooked so far.  did any of you all have a chance to watch it?

Fresh Picks to Follow – Neon Bright

Over the last few weeks, I’ve seen an influx of articles and photos about neon clothing.  Some of the major designers and retailers are rolling neon colors in their collections this spring with attempts to reverse black clothing’s momentum.  Black clothing has had its run for the past 30 years and some believe that color is making a strong comeback.  The fashion forecasters believe that neon and bright colors will produce a 4% profit increase in women’s fashion.  I personally don’t own any neon clothing in my closet, but I may pick up at least one piece this year.   Anyways, here are my top 10 neon pieces for this week’s Fresh Picks to Follow.  Do you have any favorite neon pieces in your closet?  Will you be wearing neon this spring?  Let me know!

Moody Style: Higher and Higher

I’ve been doing pretty well with my no shopping ban and my challenge of shopping my closet.  It seems like towards the end of last year, I went a little overboard.  I bought a ton of things that I still haven’t had a chance to wear them yet. I’m really pushing myself to create new looks and use everything that I have in my closet.  Everything that I’m wearing today is pretty much new except for my necklace and earrings.  I centered my outfit around my high-waisted corduroys that I bought a few months ago.  I was a little hesitant about these pants, but one of my favorite Anthro managers convinced me that I had to get them.  And I’m glad that I did.  I love how the pants make my legs look longer.  What do you guys think?  Do you have any high-waisted pants in your closet or do you plan to buy a pair?
