OOTD: Once & Always

Here’s another OOTD that I forgot to post from the weekend.  I paired my Anthropologie Once & Always Tee with an old black skirt from J. Crew.  I wish I added something else to this outfit to jazz it up.   However, the weather has been really warm here, so that’s really all of the pieces I could have worn.  I lacked inspiration with this outfit…this isn't my favorite, but I love this shirt.

Shirt: Anthropologie Once & Always Tee
Necklace: Coach Resort Optic Art C Chain Necklace
Skirt: J.Crew A-Line Skirt (really old)
Shoes: Gianni Bini High Road Heels

OOTD: Eastpointe Garden

Hiya ladies….I’ve been behind with posting my OOTDs, so here is one that I took last week.  The Eastpointe Garden Top is very versatile to wear with jeans on a casual day or dressed up with a pencil skirt and a cardigan like I did here with the Pulling It Together Sweater.  I also added a skinny belt around my waist to add some shape since the top is loose fitting.  I’m really glad that I was able to get this top before it sold out.  If you missed out, it looks like you are in luck.  It looks like Anthropologie brought this top back in new colors and made by a different designer.  The top is now called the Loosened Shelby Blouse. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Shirt: Anthropologie Eastpointe Garden Top

miscellany monday

happy monday everyone – i’ve added my random ramblings to carissa’s miscellany monday party!  check out carissa’s blog here and join in on the fun.

{one} running.  i mentioned last week that i was going to run in a 5k last thursday.  the race was great, but it was extremely sunny and humid.  the weather threw me for a loop because it was a lot warmer than i expected since the race began at 6:30pm.  during the race, i felt like i was dying from heat exhaustion.  there was also only one station to get water, which was like torture.  anyways, despite the setback of the extremely warm weather, my time for this race was 30:57 and i finished 289 out of 1668 women runners.  overall there were 1328 male finishers, 1668 female finishers and 2996 total finishers. i’m pretty pleased with myself.  i’m finally on a role now with running races and training for races.  i already signed up for another 5k race scheduled for this saturday morning.  this race is a women’s only race, which should be an interesting change of pace.   i’ll tell you all about it later.

{two} drop 10 challenge.  last night i signed up for self magazine’s drop 10 challenge.  the website has great tips on losing weight and how to get you to slim down your body.  the website is complete with daily menus, workout plans, and a food and workout log to track your progress.  check it out if you’re like me and you just want to get bathing suit ready for the summer.  oh and another great perk is that enrolling in the challenge makes you eligible for a dream vacation in the bahamas.  good luck.

Fresh Picks to Follow: Eco-Friendly Fashion

Happy Earth Day everyone!  I hope that you all have having a great day so far.  I started my holiday weekend a little early by traveling yesterday to see my BF in Savannah.  Lucky for me my office was closed today in observance of Good Friday, so I didn’t have to use too much leave time.

In honor of Earth Day, today’s Fresh Pick to Follow is all about eco-friendly clothing.  I wanted to highlight designers that are committed to sustainable practices that are considerate to the planet.  These designers use organic, sustainable, natural or recycled fabrics only.  The textile processing uses low impact dyes, and low impact washing and printing techniques, leaving green fabrics with a minimal environmental footprint. According to Eco Fashion World, “eco-fashion is a holistic concept that refers to all fashion products that have been created in such a way as to contribute to a healthier and more equal world.”  There are so many designers and companies that dedicate their practices to producing eco-friendly fashions, that it’s impossible to highlight all of them.  Check out this guide from Eco Fashion World that will direct you to a list of designers, brands and stores that sell eco-friendly fashion.

Here are my top 10 eco-friendly fashions.  Let me know what you think.  Did you do any specific in honor of Earth Day?  Let me know what you did.  If you need some Earth Day ideas, check out my post here for a quick list so that you can get started today.
