Moody Style: Blue Gingham

Have you all been to Old Navy lately? If you haven't’ gone yet, you need to take a trip there soon.  I made a quick stop there recently and was so happy to see so many cute, lightweight and affordable summer clothes right now.  The timing couldn’t be more perfect since it’s basically summertime here in Florida.  As soon as I walked in the store I spotted this off-the-shoulder top and several comfortable summer dresses – here, here, here and here. I ended up buying a few things including the cami dress I’m wearing here.  This fit and flare dress is currently on sale for only $15 and this style comes in few other patterns and colors! Unfortunately, all of the colors of the cami dresses aren’t $15, but all Old Navy dresses are on sale for up to 40% off.  It’s the perfect time to find your summer dress along with other warm weather essentials.

Moody Style: Embroidered Peasant Top

I’ve been obsessed with this season’s the seventies, boho peasant tops. I picked up this casual, summery top during my last trip to Forever 21 and I’m so glad that I did.  It’s perfect for strolling around a local farmers market or out on a quick night out with your girlfriends.  This gauzy, embroidered top is a lightweight and breezy piece that will add major style points in any closet.  I don’t know about you guys, but Forever 21 has been my go-to place lately for trendy inexpensive pieces.  I’ve already picked up several peasant tops from Forever 21, so get ready to see a bunch of them paired with some skinny jeans or shorts.  Check out some other cute tops I’ve had my eye on lately over on my Pinterest page and below in the shop the look.

Moody Style: Navy Florals

I have to confess…I'm a sucker for a midi skirt. It’s the perfect ladylike and classic shape that flatters every figure and you can wear them for just about every occasion and season.  I got this midi skirt from SheInside and it's even more gorgeous in person and so well made. Every woman needs to add this piece to her closet or at least another fun midi skirt from SheInside.  They offer so many beautiful pieces and the prices are reasonable.

There are so many possibilities with this skirt especially now that Spring is just around corner.  I definitely plan to swap out this sweater for a white or striped t-shirt to make this outfit a little springier. Hopefully, you all won’t get sick of seeing this floral print because I’ll be wearing it a lot over the next few months. Happy Wednesday everyone!

Moody Style: A Vest and a Scarf

Hiya luvs - I hope that you all had a fantastic weekend.  And for those of you that were off today, I hope that you are enjoyed the Columbus Day holiday.  I’m one of the lucky ones that had the day off today.  I originally planned to make a trip over to the mall and do a little shopping, but I decided to take it easy at home.  Instead, I cleaned up my apartment, got caught up on some shows that I missed last week and wrote up a few future posts for the blog.

I also noticed that I haven’t shared an outfit post in a while, so naturally I had to share this one today. Do you ever feel like you’ve hit the jackpot with a classic piece of clothing or accessory?  Well, that’s how I feel about my Old Navy utility vest and my blanket scarves that I bought last year.  My utility vest can really be worn throughout the year with the right pieces of course and it’s a definite must-have in the fall.   And my blanket scarves can add a touch of warmth and coziness to any fall and winter outfit.  In the pictures below, I’m wearing a cute stripe sweater dress with a utility vest in one picture and a blanket scarf in the other.  And I'm loving how both of these pieces just complete both looks.  Now that I have both of my favorites pieces on hand, I’m definitely ready for cooler temperatures this fall. Do you have any pieces that you can't live without? Let me know in the comments.

Moody Style: Target Fashion

Did you all survive the Lilly Pulitzer for Target sale?  I have to admit, I wasn’t truly prepared for the frenzy and I’m not sure that Target was either.   My store sold out of everything within the first 5 minutes of the doors opening. I missed out on all of the clothes because I over slept and didn’t make it to the store in time to line up – big mistake!  Luckily, I’ve been able to find a few things here and there from returns and a few decent ladies on Instagram not trying to make an extra buck.  I’ll share some of my goodies in a later post.

I’m not sure about you, but I often forget about shopping in Target’s clothing section when I’m looking for something new to wear.  And I’m quickly learning that I’ve been missing out on some really cute stuff.  I’m definitely looking into grabbing these flats, these heels and this handbag and this tote in the near future.  A few weeks ago, I found this shirt that reminded me of one of Mara Hoffman’s psychedelic prints and colors.  After I tried it on and looked at the price, I decided that I couldn’t leave it behind.  I’m definitely going to check out the fashion section more often so I don’t miss out on any fabulous finds.

Moody Style: Blue Bows

Happy New Year’s Eve from Florida! I can’t believe it’s already time to ring in a new year.  Woah - 2015!!! Where is the time going? I hope that you all had an amazing holiday with your loved ones.   I’m just getting back home from visiting with my family and I just realized that I never posted any outfit pictures on my blog for the entire month.  So, here is a quick post with my last outfit for the year.   I hope that you all have a fun and safe New Year's Eve!

Moody Style: Cold Snap

We are finally getting another cold snap down here in Florida and I’m really looking forward to it.  I’m already planning out my outfits for the rest of the week as I type.  I know for sure that I’ll be pulling out all of my Zara scarves and wearing lots of sweaters.  We're expecting the coldest weather this season where the temperatures are being forecasted to dive into the mid 20s area wide.  This is a big deal for us down here considering today we reached a high of 81 degrees.  It’s crazy how the weather changes so dramatically.

Moody Style: Vested

Do you guys ever find yourself searching high and low for a product that you become ridiculously obsessed? Well, I have to say that this scenario happens to me pretty often especially when it’s a hot new “IT” item that everyone’s grabbing.  How many stores do you search before you give up on that perfect piece of clothing?

I finally found this awesome utility vest at Old Navy a couple of months ago after walking out of several stores empty handed.  And just when I was about to give up, I found the last one in the area on a clearance rack.  I always feel so lucky when that happens.  Anyways, this vest is fantastic because the olive color is so neutral that it complients just about everything.  It is the perfect weight for the warm southern fall and it’s ideal for layering.  I decided to pair it with polka dots and stripes and I threw on some leopard heels for an extra pattern mix. Do any of you have this vest? What are some ways that you are styling it?

Moody Style: Shake It Off

I have to admit I’m a big fan of Taylor Swift’s new song "Shake It Off" and I’m a little tempted to purchase her new album, "1989." Did any of you buy it?  What do you guys think? I wouldn’t say that I’m a Swiftie by any means or that I’ve been a huge Taylor Swift fan in the past, but I jumped on the Taylor Swift bandwagon during the 2014 VMA’s.  I have to admit that I was pretty impressed with her performance and that point during her performance right before pretending to jump off the "1989" sign, when she stated, "I don't care if it's VMAs, I'm not jumping off." It’s great to see a performer stay true to herself and not succumb to a variety of antics to sell music.  I think that’s one of the reasons she’s been considered to be a role model for young girls.  Taylor continues to respects herself and her fans and as a result her huge following of Swifties continues to grow.  Love her or hate her, Taylor is a keeps her public image clean and classy, which is a nice change from the many overproduced sexualized pop stars.  What do you guys think about this 24 year old starlet?  Well, I checked out Taylor’s performance earlier to day on Good Morning America and really enjoyed it.  Here is the clip from the performance on GMA, so you too can "Shake It Off."

Moody Style: Motorcycle and Shimmer

Happy Monday Everyone! I love finding great deals when I’m shopping and I pretty much only buy things when they are on sale or with some type of discount.  As many of you may have noticed, one of my favorite places to shop lately is J.Crew because they always have some type of sale or a discount offered. I found these motorcycle pants earlier this year during one of the store’s 50% off sales and I’m so happy that I found my size.  I love paring up pieces that have a little edge to them with feminine and girly pieces.  The seams on this motorcycle pants adds interest and a little edge without any of the bulk from your typical cargo pants.  So, I decided to wear the silk eyelet top and shimmer earrings to jazz up the look.  And I think it was the perfect combination of both hard and soft.  What do you guys think? Do any of you own these pants or any pants that are a little edgy?  How do you style them?
