Moody Style: Pop of Color

I’m not sure about you all, but I’m a little behind on the colored denim trend.  I love how they look on everyone else, but for the longest time I couldn’t find a pair that fit me.  I tried on a ton of skinny jeans in cobalt blue and green, but none of them worked for me.  I still plan on trying on a few more brands before I completely rule out the idea.  I tried on these flare leg jeans from Forever 21 in two sizes.  Both of them fit so differently that I wasn’t sure if I should even buy them.   However, my desire for a pop of red jeans took over my uncertainty.  Now that I’ve worn them a few times, I’m pretty glad that I bought them.  I just wish they came in more bright colors. Do you have a favorite pair of colored denim?

Fresh Picks to Follow – Crazy for Cobalt

Happy Friday everyone!  I’m headed to a fashion show tonight and I’m really looking forward to checking out some of the local talent.  I’ll be sure to post about it all later.  Anyways, for this Friday’s Fresh Pick to Follow I wanted to focus on the cobalt blue trend that’s been in the stores for several months now.  I love this bright vibrant blue color because it really pops and it makes a powerful statement.  This brilliant hue compliments just about every other color from basic black and neutrals to other bright colors.  Cobalt blue also looks great on all complexions and it will make you stand out in any crowd.  Are you as crazy for cobalt as I am?  Check out my top 10 cobalt blue pieces for this week’s Fresh Picks to Follow.  What do you all think about this color trend? Let me know!

Office Chic – The Basic Work Wardrobe

Hi everyone!  So I know that it was a few weeks ago that I mentioned this new series, but I’m finally ready to get things started.  Since I work in a conservative office, staying current with the latest trends is just impractical. Buying new clothes to update my wardrobe each season costs lots of money and time.  The best way to keep your wardrobe current is to invest in a few basics as a foundation and add accessories and smaller trendy pieces.

I wanted to start off the What to Wear to Work series with my take on several pieces that would work perfectly for most office environments.  Dressing for the office does not have to be boring, expensive or even complicated.  I’ve narrowed these pieces down to 7 basic garments that can be mixed and matched with each other for an office chic look.  Over the next several weeks, I’ll explore each of these basics, which will include the following:  Cardigans, Blouses, Blazers, Pants, Pencil Skirts, Black Dresses and a High Heeled Shoe.

Again, if there is any topic that you want to talk about or if you have any questions about office appropriate clothing, please contact me at moodygirlinstyle@yahoo.com.

xoxo Natasha
